are you prepared for training?

At the training center, remember you are in a Bon Secours facility and the same professional standards and policies apply as with our other locations. Observe the Bon Secours Virginia tobacco-free policy, which states that tobacco products are prohibited while in the building or in the immediate surroundings.

  • Examine your schedule.
    • Before you come to class, check HealthStream for your schedule. Double-check the name of the class you are attending. This is vital to speed your check-in. Make sure you have the correct location, date and time. Don't show up on the wrong day; you will not be accommodated.
    • Complete any prerequisite electronic courses prior to attending class. Make sure you take the classes in order, if you need to take more than one. The order of classes is similar to college courses. Look at the course number. If there is a mistake, talk with your manager and get it corrected before class.
  • Be on time.
    If you are late you will miss vital information. If you are too late, you will be sent home.
  • Dress professionally.
    Present a professional image and dress as you normally would at work and at Bon Secours sponsored functions. Business casual or uniforms are appropriate.
  • Remember your badge.
    You'll need your badge to check-in. We will clock in and out on the Kronos clock for lunch and travel from between the Bon Secours Training Center and your next work location. Exempt employees will notify their work group's timekeeper regarding their training/in-service time. 
  • If you're driving...
    Know where to park, and park only in the designated area. At the end of the day you can submit a request for mileage reimbursement for miles traveled between Bon Secours Hampton Roads facilities at the currently approved rate. Mileage to and from your residence will not be reimbursed.
  • Enroll for completion.
    Know that before you leave training, you need to log onto HealthStream and "enroll" for the completed class. Directions are available in the classroom. If you don’t complete this step your training won’t be considered completed and you won’t be able to sign-on when we go-live!
