for employees

We've learned a great deal during the go-lives with ConnectCare at our four Richmond-area hospitals and physician practices that transitioned to the new system in the past year. We've already started seeing incredible benefits for our patients and our caregivers.

As caregivers, the ConnnectCare electronic medical record rollout offers many benefits including:

  • Providing Bon Secours with a very powerful tool to assist us in transforming how we deliver care
  • Real-time access to comprehensive medical information
  • Comprehensive access: one patient, one record - available 24/7
  • Continuity of care
  • Enhanced patient education
  • Implementation of evidence-based practices
  • Reduced risk of errors
  • Enabling truly world-class care

The Bon Secours Virginia ConnectCare project team continues to share best practices as we bring ConnectCare to the Hampton Roads acute care facilities. Go-live at Bon Secours Mary Immaculate Hospital is scheduled for April 29, 2012.

Talking with patients about ConnectCare
As our employees talk with patients, we want them to do so with full knowledge and understanding of the benefits of our new electronic medical records system. Our Talking Points (.pdf) document will help to answer many of our patients' questions.

Bon Secours is very excited to bring ConnectCare to our hospitals in Hampton Roads. Electronic medical records will enable us to fulfill our vision as the top-tier health care system in the Mid-Atlantic.

ConnectCare is vital to our efforts to work smarter to provide better, more cost effective care. With this technology, we will streamline care to allow our staff to focus on patient care. More time to engage with patients will lead to improved clinical outcomes.

This is the key to service excellence – partnering with our patients in their health and healing.

Sincerely,
Michael K. Kerner, CEO
