Bon Secours is very excited to bring ConnectCare to our hospitals in Hampton Roads.
Bon Secours is preparing for health care reform, but even as we prepare for the change to come, we're improving the care patients receive today with the advanced technology of electronic medical records. We're doing this because we know better quality care is achieved through best practices, consistency, and careful patient management. We have our own reform – a Clinical Transformation.
Clinical Transformation is an effort across Bon Secours that helps us work smarter to achieve better care that's more cost effective. ConnectCare will allow us to accelerate our Clinical Transformation efforts by allowing us to hard-wire and measure the results of our evidence-based medical practices, to prevent medication errors and to better address a patient's medical needs regardless of where they seek care.
We're targeting areas for improvement, and we're communicating better with each other and with our patients through electronic medical records and through the tools on ConnectCare. Approximately 75% of our ambulatory sites in Bon Secours Virginia are linked to the network. Our health system is also the first to use the Radiant Radiology Information System, an electronic upgrade that allows our radiologists to operate within a unified system that is fully integrated with our clinical systems.
